Artist's Statement about this work: Having been born and raised in Utah, it has become second nature for me to paint and enjoy the landscapes that are offered here. When the opportunity to travel to Spain came to me, I took it with wonder and anticipation. A new place, new scenery, new subjects to paint. The Gothic part of Barcelona took my breath away. The beautiful architecture and tight streets awaited my discovery around every corner. This watercolor is of one of those streets. The bright light bouncing off of the background buildings helps to guide you though the street maze. In the creation of this piece it is Barcelona that I returned to and the constant wonder of what lies beyond the corner down the street.

Artist's Statement about this work: I have always been fascinated with the desert. The loneliness and isolation that you find there appeal to the artist in me. It is there that this piece was created. The train tracks that cross the western desert in Utah are very seldom seen. To find the crossing of the tracks in the isolation of the desert made me wonder what happened there. As you look down the tracks into the distance, it is there that I hoped to capture the mystery of space and time. Was there someone at sometime who witnessed the crossing, the exchange of one track to another? As I painted this piece I put myself there, listening to the clickity clack of the trains as they crossed at this lonely juncture.

Artist's Statement about this work: I painted this style that indicates age with the texture I used . Monument Valley looks more or less constant, it never really seems to change. In the world we live in lately it's comforting to see some things that remain the same over the years.
